Filming UNKLE at Brixton Academy
Thanks to Andy Wilkin who invited me along to his filming of UNKLE at Brixton
Academy on 1 March 2008.
We left Southampton at 11am and never got back to 3.30am so it was one long day. It was worth it though as UNKLE were brilliant. It was the last night of the tour and
some special guests turned up to do a slot including Badly Drawn Boy and Ian Brown. We managed to get interviews with both of them as well as filming the gig of course.
The filming was partly in HD and it looks like Andy's edit of the performance will end up as part of an UNKLE live DVD.
It was our second time filming UNKLE as we had filmed them back in the summer of
2007 at Glade Festival as part of the uni outside broadcast at the festival.
That Glade appearance was the start of a long tour that would see the band travelling to Europe, Australia, Japan and the U.S. So it was interesting to be at Brixton for the final night of the tour.
Thanks indeed to UNKLE and all their production and management team for allowing us to film. On the night there was another film crew as well who are doing the tour DVD and thanks also goes to them for allowing us to work alongside them.
