The Crew

Got to go to Glastonbury again this year. Thanks to Dave Poulton for taking me on the crew!

Spent most of the time working but it wasn't so bad as we were camped in behind John Paul in a winniebago. It sure beats a tent! Managed to get some great back stage access and went for Biffy Clyro instead of Jay-Z. Got there early and managed to get a view from side of the stage. Biffy Clyro were brilliant. I love that band. Also sneaked a look at MGMT. They were cool. That was pretty much all I got to see on John Peel. Didn't make it to the pyramid at all. Trouble was we were working. The uni OB was covering Dance East with HD cameras and recording for Glastonbury TV. Glastonbury asked us for 6 documentaries that the staff and students put together. The HD footage was amazing with Andy Wilkin doing his OB director. Andy Wilkin Acts filmed included Fat Boy Slim, Roisin Murphy, UNKLE, Does It Offend YOu Yeah!, Sam Sparro

The doc crew got interviews with James Lavelle, Does It Offend You Yeah!, Alphabeat, Lightspeed Champion, Hadouken, Glasvegas, Billy Bragg, Annie Nightingale and others.

Managed to get some pictures with Paul's camera of Roisin Murphy and The Whip. They are here and here on the site.

Phew!

The past couple of months have went past in a flash. Highlights have included supporting the lads at Yada Yada Records. A fantastic line up of music graces their EP and some of the live performances from the launch night are here on the site. Thanks to Nick,David and Barry for coming down to Joiners to do the filming. Thanks from me too to the Yada chaps for giving me a name check on the EP credits. Proud of that!

Been working away too at the new band with Rolly, Dan and Brian. The new band is called The Reaktors. Video and pictures on the site soon as we are being filmed on the 28th. Gigs coming over the summer and posted up here as soon as I remember to ask Brian for the list.

Good to hear this month from my old Happy The Man chum Ian McLachlin who now lives in Qatar. We hadn't been in touch since the band split up in the late eighties. I put up some Happy The Man footage so that Ian could see it again. I'll put up more soon.

On the video front Hybrid look like using the Glade footage in their new promo for their new single release. Also working on a film for legendary south coast band The Crop Dusters. A wee sneak preview is available here.

We are off to Glastonbury and Glade again this year with the uni OB. Last year we interviewed and filmed The Klaxons, Fat Boy Slim, Mark Ronson, The Whip, Mika, Hybrid, UNKLE...The list is long. Looking forward to more of that this year. If you are at Glastonbury or Glade I might just see you there!

This is it. The new look Cosmic Egg website. It's only taken me about 5 years to get round to changing the site!

For a web design web site it kinda lacks any sense of design.

In fact the only thing on the site is the blue bar at the top and that's exactly what I want...Nothing to get in the way of the content.

There isn't even a logo or the name anywhere or a header image for that matter. But I figure if you got here it's obvious from the URL.

Minimilist that's what it is.
