Originally from Glasgow I have been living in Southampton for about 6 years. I came to Southampton to do a degree in Computer Studies at Southampton Institute, as it was called then, as a mature student. During my studies I was lucky enough to get a summer job in the web development department which led to a full time position on graduation. A couple of months later I got the manager’s job.
These days Southampton Institute is Southampton Solent University and I am still there as Web and Learning Systems Development Manager in the e-Development Centre. It is a fantastic job. Southampton Solent University is a great place to work. I recently successfully completed an MSc in Software Engineering Management which I did part time and was funded by the University.
When I am not doing that, I am playing the drums with a punk band. We are all far too old to for that kind of thing of course
but who cares.
Also on this site is some really good streaming video and audio featuring bands and musicians I have been connected with over the years.
